Dark MAGA is a style of design that emulates fashwave aesthetics but applies them to images of former U.S. President Donald Trump. Though Dark MAGA memes emerged from hateful online environments, they have since become normalized in mainstream politics. This includes an equivalent meme in "Dark Brandon", in praise of Trump's opponent in the 2020 US election, Joe Biden. As such, not all memes using this aesthetic are necessarily hateful.
