Helicopter Rides

In contemporary fascist movements, helicopter rides most often reference a killing method in which victims are dropped from helicopters mid-flight. The method, sometimes called "death flights", was known to be used by the authoritarian regime of Chilean dictator Augusto Pinochet. In online hate movements, helicopter rides are invoked as a means of disseminating death threats and violent intimidation while avoiding consequences. They can also be used as a coded way of signalling support for fascist violence towards political enemies and marginalized groups.
