Also known as: Top kek, Kekistan, The Cult of Kek

Kek is a term used in online spaces as an equivalent to the acronym 'lol', popularily used to signal laughter. Its use stems from the online video game World of Warcraft, in which it appears as a translation for "lol" in the language of the Horde faction. It is also the name of an ancient Egyptian deity.

Use of the term is prominent in white nationalist spaces, and features heavily in the lore that surrounds them. Kekistan, an imaginary white nationalist country, as well as the Cult of Kek, a semi-ironic religious cult interested in "meme magic", are both named after the term.
